Limited Edition AMX

1969 AMC AMX Mike DeMartino
Name: Mike DeMartino

Year / Make / Model: 1969 AMC AMX

How long have you had your classic car?
45 years

Why did you choose this particular car?
The two seat AMX was a limited production car that was only made for 3 years—and only 19,134 were produced. I wanted something that few people had, that would draw curiosity, and would give me a chance to tell people about the two seat AMX.

Where is your favorite place to show off your classic car?
Small local shows.

Any recent or upcoming classic car restoration projects you’d like to share?
This car is fully restored mechanically and cosmetically from bumper to bumper.

Anything else you want us to know about your classic car?
When I bought this car, I was young and had no money to restore it, but every payday I went to my local AMC dealership and bought parts. I did this for years, storing the spare parts, which turned out to be a very lucky decision because no one expected AMC to go out of business. Replacement parts are very hard to find, but mine is restored with every available correct factory option.

Could you tell us about your Legendary experience?
Legendary product included in the restoration of my car:

  • Driver and passenger molded bucket seat foam
  • Driver and passenger bucket seat upholstery
  • Rear kick panels
  • Center armrest cover
  • Driver and Passenger door panels
  • Driver and passenger Zippered style headrest covers
  • Window sweep kit

Calendar Girl

1969 AMC Javelin Jeffrey Holmberg
Name: Jeffrey Holmberg

Year / Make / Model: 1969 AMC Javelin

How long have you had your classic car?
12 years

Why did you choose this particular car?
I always liked AMC muscle cars. My family had an AMC dealership when I was growing up, and I remember cleaning a car exactly like this one for a new car delivery.

Where is your favorite place to show off your classic car?
Local car shows and cruise nights.

Any recent or upcoming classic car restoration projects you’d like to share?
Just normal maintenance. Some new Legendary Auto interior panels were added to this car recently.

Anything else you want us to know about your classic car?
This car was the cover car for the 2021 NAPA calendar. I also have a 1969 AMC AMX that was also a calendar car in 2021. Both cars have the factory Big Bad optional paint which came with painted bumpers.

Could you tell us about your Legendary experience?
Both my cars have Legendary seat covers and interior panels. The fit and finish is excellent. One car also has the vinyl floor mats you offer.

The Machine Lives!

1970 AMC Rebel Machine John R Schifko
Name: John R Schifko

Year / Make / Model: 1970 AMC Rebel Machine

How long have you had your classic car?
Since April of 2015

Where is your favorite place to show off your classic car?
Local car shows.

Any recent or upcoming classic car restoration projects you’d like to share?
I Hope to get started on a 1969 Big Bad Orange AMX that I talked my dad into buying back in 1987. It’s painted, but now needs to be put back together. I run the Gateway AMC page on Facebook, I’ve been a member of Gateway AMC here in St. Louis since 1985, and I have a few more AMC’s.

Anything else you want us to know about your classic car?
The Machine has history in the St. Louis area, as a Gateway AMC club member owned it back in the 80’s before selling it. Back then, the SC/Ramblers and Rebel Machines were much cheaper. Somehow I found it after mentioning it at work one day to a Mopar guy. He told me he knew the guy that had that Machine, but he sold it several years prior (luckily he sold it to his friend so he knew where it was located). I was able to find it from the new owner, and it was perfect timing as he was building a new house and was ready to sell it.

Could you tell us about your Legendary experience?
I’ve mainly bought seat covers and carpet from Legendary over the years. I’m always happy with the quality, and very glad they make products for AMC cars.
